Rescue crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department hoisted a seriously injured hiker out of some rugged terrain in Griffith Park Monday.

The 22-year-old woman was about 150 feet down a steep trail near Bee Rock (map) when emergency crews arrived and began providing medical care at about 10:42 a.m., according to Erik Scott of the Fire Department.

At 12:28 p.m., firefighters safely hoisted the woman from the trail and transported her to a local hospital, Scott said.

The woman had been injured and was in serious condition, according to Scott.
