Hawthorne Bodyguard Offers $10,000 Reward After K-9 Partner Is Shot, Wounded

A Hawthorne bodyguard who offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who shot and wounded his K-9 partner continued searching Wednesday for the gunman.

Kris Herzog, who says he is a bodyguard who works with his K-9 “Bear,” said his dog was shot in the leg shortly after midnight Tuesday.

“I ran to the backyard where I found my dog screaming, yelling in pain,” Herzog said of the incident.

Footage of the incident captured by a security camera showed the dog standing on a jacuzzi cover when he fell to the floor.

Herzog then grabbed what appeared to be a gun and ran to help his dog, video showed.

Herzog says he has worked for numerous celebrities, with the Bodyguard Group of Beverly Hills and is a veteran.

Herzog has received numerous threats and believes he was the intended target, he said.

A $10,000 reward was being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the gunman.
