Man Shot, Injured During Carjacking in South Los Angeles

A man was recovering from a shooting injury Wednesday after a violent carjacking in South Los Angeles’s unincorporated Willowbrook neighbourhood, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials.

A shooting victim was found when officials responded to reports fo gunfire near Compton Avenue and East 118th Street (map) around 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, Lt. Moss said.

The incident occurred during a carjacking, Moss said, and the injured man was hospitalised in stable condition.

It was unknown if the shooting was gang related.

A description of the shooter was not available.
