A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI and drug possession early Saturday morning after the big rig he was driving slammed into several parked vehicles on a residential street in Brea, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 2 a.m. when the driver turned onto the 600 block of East Birch Street, which has restrictions against tractor-trailers, said Lt. Bill Smyser of the Brea Police Department.

The driver lost control of the semitrailer and hit 14 vehicles, including a one that was struck by another that was pushed into the garage door of a home, according to police. No injuries were reported.

Gerardo Torres, 45, of Rialto, was taken into custody at the scene. He is suspected of DUI and methamphetamine possession, authorities said.

A section of East Birch Street was closed after the incident. It was unclear when it would be reopened.
