A broken water main sent water rushing down a street in Brentwood Tuesday morning.

The 8-inch pipe burst near the intersection of San Vicente Boulevard and Montana Avenue (map), Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokeswoman Crystal Chacon confirmed.

It was unclear what time the water main broke, but Chacon said crews had managed to shut off the water sometime before 6:40 a.m.

There were no reports of flooding at any of the nearby homes or businesses, according to Chacon, who added that it did not appear water service had been lost to any of the locations.
