The robbery occurred at the World Oil gas station at 1702 N. Broadway (map) at about 1 p.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Santa Ana Police Department.

Surveillance video showed the robber entering the store before pulling out a handgun and then pointing it at a clerk behind the counter.

The robber demanded money from the cash register, then fled on foot with the cash, the Police Department stated.

At one point during the robbery, video showed a customer with several items in his hands walk into view of the robber.

The robber immediately pointed the gun at the customer, who put his items down and then got on the floor with his arms out.

As he left the store, video showed the robber conceal the gun from another customer who was entering the business.

The robber, who appeared to have a goatee, was dressed in black pants and a black shirt with sunglasses and black baseball hat.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect was asked to contact Detective D. Aguilar at 714-245-8443 or Orange County Crime Stoppers at 1-855-TIPS-OCCS.
