Man Shot by LAPD After Allegedly Using Officer’s Taser in Mid-Wilshire Fight Has Died

A man shot during an altercation with Los Angeles police officers in the Mid-Wilshire area on Thursday has died, the L.A. County coroner’s office said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at about 5:50 p.m. Thursday, according to coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.

The man is the second person to be fatally shot by the LAPD this week and the 10th this year. Eleven other people have been wounded in shootings by L.A. police officers in 2015.

Thursday’s shooting occurred on Sycamore Avenue near 9th Street, according to LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith.
