Teenager Fatally Shot While Riding Bicycle in South L.A.

A male teenager was fatally shot Saturday night while riding his bicycle in the Florence neighborhood of South Los Angeles, authorities said.

The shooting happened about 8:41 p.m. while the victim was on a bicycle near the intersection of 73rd Street and Broadway, according to Sgt. Rick Rodgers of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The unidentified teen was struck multiple times by gunfire and taken to a hospital, where he died, the sergeant said.

The incident was likely gang-related, the LAPD said.

Broadway was closed between Florence Avenue and 76th Street while an investigation was conducted at the scene.
