Magnitude-2.8 Earthquake, Centered Offshore, Strikes Near Hermosa Beach

A magnitude-2.8 earthquake struck near Hermosa Beach on Monday evening, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake’s epicenter was located offshore, about 5 miles west-southwest of Redondo Beach and west-northwest of Palos Verdes Estates, the USGS said.

The depth of the temblor was measured at 6.3 miles. It occurred at 6:52 p.m. and was initially measured at a magnitude of 2.7, the Geological Survey reported.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.
