Firefighters Rescue Person Pinned in Gear Equipment Inside Elevator at UCLA

Los Angeles firefighters responded to a call of a person trapped in an elevator on the UCLA campus on Tuesday evening.

The individual was trapped between the ground floor and floor below and had become pinned in the gear equipment, according to an alert from the LAFD.

Firefighters using “maxiforce” air bags and additional rescue equipment were able to free the individual.

The person was transported to the hospital in fair condition, according to LAFD spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

It was not known how the person became trapped.
