Today’s report also commemorated former Raiders quarterback, Ken Stabler, who passed away on July 8th, 2015 of complications resulting from Stage 4 colon cancer. While playing for the Raiders from 1970 to 1979, Stabler won the NFL MVP award in 1974 as well as earning Pro Bowl honors four times. In 1977, Stabler guided the Raiders to their first Super Bowl victory against the Minnesota Vikings. During his 15-year career with the NFL, he threw for 27,938 yards with the Raiders, the Houston Oilers and the New Orleans Saints. The 69-year-old was a native of Foley, Alabama.

And the report featured a special congratulations to former Raiders wide receiver, Tim Brown, who was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Saturday, August 8th, 2015. Brown played for the Los Angeles/Oakland Raiders for 16 seasons beginning in 1988. He finished his career as the team’s all-time leading receiver. Brown is the only player in the team’s history to score on a rush, reception, kick return and a punt return. Brown also ranks as the 5th leading scorer in Raiders’ history with 626 points and has scored more points than any other position player in the franchise history. After leaving the Raiders, he played for one more season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. (Information courtesy Raiders.com)
