A man arrested in North Carolina last May for alleged lewd acts with children in Palmdale was in an Antelope Valley courtroom Monday to be arraigned.
David Wayne Hoyle was charged with 11 felony charges including four counts of oral copulation or sexual penetration with child 10 years or younger, one count of sexual intercourse or sodomy with child 10 years or younger.
He was also charged with two counts each of lewd acts upon a child, criminal threats and corporal injury to a child, according to a news release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The former Palmdale resident was accused of sexually abusing two girls, ages 7 and 8. He was also accused of beating a 7-year-old boy and exposing him to lewd conduct. All of the alleged acts occurred between September 2011 and July 2014, the release stated.
The case was filed at the Antelope Valley courthouse on April 16, according to the DA’s office. Hoyle was then extradited from North Carolina to California on Aug. 27.
Hoyle’s arraignment was continued until Sept. 28. He was being held on $2.65 million bail.
If convicted as charged, Hoyle faces multiple life terms in state prison.
