Man, 55, Fatally Shot Following Argument in South L.A.

A 55-year-old man was shot and killed following an argument in South Los Angeles on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The man was arguing with another man when he pulled out a gun and shot the victim once in the upper torso. The incident occurred in the 140th block of West 131st Street in the unincorporated Willowbrook neighborhood just before 1 a.m., sheriff’s officials stated in a news release.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The gunman was believed to be white or Hispanic, but a better description was not available. He was last seen running northbound on an alley adjacent to the shooting location.

It was not know if the incident was gang related.
