This is the last day to see costumes from your favorite 2015 television shows for FREE at 9th Annual Outstanding Art of Television Costume Design, spotlights the work of talented costume designers, costume supervisors, and assistant costume designers.

Included in this exhibition the 2015 Emmy nominees for Outstanding Costumes from the television shows Gotham, The Mindy Project, Olive Kitteridge and Wolf Hall.

This is the FIRST weekend to see THE ANCIENT FOREST at Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge. The forest contains a collection plants that hail from the days of the dinosaurs!

Officials at Descanso Gardens say this handful of species – such as Cycads, Redwoods, Tree Ferns and Ginkgoes – have survived virtually unchanged since the time of the dinosaurs millions of years ago. They says these “living fossils” are the focus of the Ancient Forest.

While we’re on the subject of vegetation, the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana shows us how bamboo can be used as an artistic medium at this new exhibit MODERN TWIST: CONTEMPORARY JAPANESE BAMBOO ART, a stunning collection from the Clark Center for Japanese Art and Culture, including rare wall-hung installations and pieces never before seen in the United States.

The 14th Annual Galbani® Cheese Italian Feast of San Gennaro, Los Angeles takes over Hollywood with its annual street festival, celebrating everything Italian.

There’s savory Italian sausage and peppers, meatballs simmering in homemade sauce, baked clams on the half shell, warm cheese on perfectly crusted pizza and sugar-powdered zeppole fill the streets of Hollywood.

Inspired by the 80 year old New York City tradition, the feast celebrates Italian culture, entertainment and cuisine by featuring great food, music, genealogy research, free kid’s corner & petting zoo, pony rides, bocce, bingo, ferris wheel, games and more. Over thirty hours of live music and performances are scheduled throughout the weekend on the Galbani Cheese Main Stage and special guest, Galbani Cheese’s very own Chef Marco will demonstrate Italian recipes on Saturday, September 26th at 5pm and host a “Galbani Cheese Building Contest for Charity” at 6pm. A “Gravy-Sauce Cooking Competition”, open to all levels of chefs, is a two-day contest full of favorite family recipes and stories for all to enjoy.

By the way, St. Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples Italy, worked tirelessly to help people in need and is the inspiration for the feast created in his name. The Mass & Procession of St. Gennaro on Hollywood Boulevard begins at 11am on Saturday, September 26th, presided by Monsignors Montoya and Cacciapuoti.

The 7th Annual Walk and Roll for Ataxia is a fundraiser for a neurological degenerative disease that affects balance, coordination, and speech. In addition to a variety of symptoms and handicaps, sufferers have difficulty coordinating voluntary movements. Ataxia is progressive and leads to a progressive loss of physical abilities, often until patients are completely disabled.

This is the last weekend to ride the two Pacific Electric Red Car trolley replicas that travel one-mile-and a half miles of track in San Pedro.

According to the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, the two cars that travel the San Pedro waterfront are going into storage. Since it opened in 2003, the Daily Breeze newspaper reports the trolley has carried more than one-million-people.

Aviation fans can enjoy seeing the Blue Angels! (((NATSOT STING)))

The Ventura County Star reports this is the Blue Angels return to the local Point Mugu Air Show for the first time since 1999. Blame bad weather and Congressional sequestration for the long gap.  

The Blue Angels team features six Boeing FA-18C Hornets flying in tight formation.
