Pedestrian Killed in South Bay Hit-and-Run; Driver Sought

Police were searching for a driver who sped away after striking a pedestrian in Lennox on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim was pushing a shopping cart in the area of Lennox Boulevard and Eastwood Avenue around 9:50 a.m. when they were hit by a black Honda or Acura, CHP's incident log stated.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office was called to the scene, as were the county Fire and Sheriff's Departments.

A SigAlert was issued and Lennox Boulevard was temporarily shut down between Eastwood and Freeman avenues.
