The second of two decomposing bodies found inside a Hacienda Heights home last month was identified Tuesday as a 16-year-old boy.

Deputies found the two bodies, initially described as those of a man and a woman, while conducting a welfare check at a home in the 16600 block of Carriage Place on Oct. 7.

The victims were found in separate rooms, both in advance stages of decomposition, according to a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department news release issued at the time of the discovery.

The identity of the second victim, 16-year-old Gavin Bustamante, was confirmed Tuesday by Elissa Fleak with the coroner’s office.

Both victims died of stab wounds, according to the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.

It was not clear how the two victims were related.

Collins lived with her adult son, who was in custody and not home at the time of the incident, the Sheriff’s Department stated.
