1 Killed, 2 Injured in Apparent Gang-Related Incident in Highland: Sheriff’s Department

One person was killed and two others were wounded Saturday evening in an shooting in Highland, authorities said.

The incident happened in the 7900 block of Midhurst Drive, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said on Twitter shortly after 9 p.m.

“I am sorry to report 1 person has died and the investigation is now a homicide,” sheriff’s Capt. Anthony DeCecio said on Twitter. The conditions of the wounded patients was not immediately known.

The incident “appears to be gang-related,” DeCecio tweeted earlier, adding that deputies at the scene “have control of the situation.”

An investigation at the location was expected to be ongoing for several hours, authorities said. The public was advised to avoid the area.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to call the Highland Police Department at 909-425-9793.
