Five days after a married couple stormed into a public health department holiday party, killing 14 and injuring 21, San Bernardino County workers returned to work.

County offices reopened Monday after last week's deadly shooting at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino. The staff of the county’s Environmental Health Department, where one of the shooters, Syed Rizwan Farook, worked, will return Dec. 14.

"Our hearts are heavy during this time, but yet we must move forward," said James Ramos, chairman of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors.

Of the 14 fatalities, 12 were county employees.
