An El Sereno woman who lost her custom wheelchair in a fire has been practically trapped at home ever since and is in desperate need of a new one.

Anita Avila says Medi-Cal won’t pay to fix the wheelchair because it is too old and she doesn’t qualify for a new one until November 2016.

If you would like to help Avila get a new custom wheelchair, please visit the family’s GoFundMe page at gofundme.com/AnitaWheelchair.

Kacey Montoya reports for the KTLA 5 News at 10 on Dec. 23, 2015.
