Dramatic surveillance video from a gas station in Australia captured the terrifying moment when a car crashed through the convenience store, narrowly hitting a woman inside.

The customer was walking along an aisle when the speeding vehicle suddenly slammed into the store, sending debris and shards of glass everywhere, and knocking over shelves, the video showed.

It initially appeared the female customer had been hit, but the car actually narrowly avoided striking her, according to CNN.

Store employees managed to get the vehicle's two occupants out of the car and to safety, the cable news channel reported.

They were taken to an area hospital in unknown conditions for treatment.

The collision also triggered a gas leak, prompting authorities to block off a portion of an area until it was contained.

Police were investigating the cause of the crash, and whether alcohol was a factor, according to CNN.
