Metro Train Hits SUV in Exposition Park; 1 Person Hospitalized

One person was hospitalized and EXPO line services were temporarily delayed after a Metro train crashed into an SUV in Exposition Park Monday morning.

The crash occurred between West Exposition Park and South Western Avenue and the intersection of Exposition and South Vermont Avenue, Metro tweeted around 8:40 a.m.

The train crashed into the SUV’s driver’s side while both vehicles were on the tracks, Sky5 aerials showed.

One person in the vehicle was transported in unknown condition, the Los Angeles Fire Department said. No one on the train was injured.

Service were temporarily suspended between the two intersections, one of which was near the University of Southern, California.

EXPO line services resumed by 10:45 a.m., with residual delays expected through 11.
