Three Injured After Metrolink Train Slams Into Vehicle Stalled on Tracks in San Fernando

Three people on board a Metrolink train were injured Monday evening when a driver abandoned his vehicle on the tracks in San Fernando.

The vehicle stalled on the tracks around 5:30 p.m. at a crossing near North Park Avenue and First Street, according to Margaret Stewart with the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle safely, but the train was unable to stop in time, aerial video of the scene showed.

There were 33 people on board train at the time of the crash.

Three people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Stewart said.
