Michael Smith, of Nashville, told authorities that he had “just got married and was trying to process everything,” a spokesman for the Mount Juliet Police Department told the Huffington Post.

Smith was taken into custody Thursday evening after a dashcam-recorded chase that made its way along Interstate 40 West and surface streets, according to a news release from the department.

The suspect was apprehended without incident when he pulled into a restaurant parking lot and voluntarily stopped his vehicle, the statement said.

He was booked into the Wilson County Jail on suspicion of evading arrest, reckless endangerment and reckless driving, the Police Department said.
