Baby Aiden Lopez was suffering from serious head trauma and bruising to his upper torso when emergency responders were called to a residence in the 43400 block of Gadsen Avenue on March 22.

Lopez was rushed to the hospital, but died from his injuries four days later.

Brittany Ingrassi, 30, who authorities said was babysitting Lopez at the time of the incident, was taken into custody on suspicion of cruelty to a child likely to produce great bodily injury or death.

She was described as a longtime friend of the baby’s father by investigators.

“He was a beautiful boy with a smile that would light up a room,” a post read on a GoFundMe page set up to help Aiden’s parents cover funeral and medical expenses.

“Should there  be any excess funds, donations will be made in Aiden’s name to charitable organizations that help children who are in need,” the page stated.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department at 323-890-5500.

Those who wish to remain anonymous can call “Crime Stoppers” at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
