A woman was seriously injured after a car-to-car shooting in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles on Friday night, police said.

The victim’s vehicle was at the intersection of Venice Boulevard and Hoover Street about 10:30 p.m. when another car pulled up and shots were fired, according to Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Barboza.

The female was struck at least once by the gunfire, Barboza said. She was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition and is expected to survive.

Two other occupants in the car were uninjured.

Police did not have a description of the other vehicle or of the shooter.

Investigators do not believe the incident was gang-related, according to Barboza.
