Two people were found deceased at a home in Oxnard late Saturday afternoon, and their deaths were being investigated as “suspicious,” a spokesman for the Oxnard Police Department said.

Officers responded about 4:45 p.m. to a call of a “subject not breathing” in the 5400 block of Barrymore Drive, according to police Commander Christopher Williams. Authorities believe the call was made by a neighbor.

After officers arrived at the residence and discovered the two bodies, the case was taken over by the Police Department’s Major Crimes Investigations unit, Williams said.

Police described the deceased individuals only as a male and a female, the Ventura County Star reported.

No other information was immediately available.
