Man Shot, Killed at Birthday Party in Palmdale During Argument: LASD

A man was shot to death after a verbal altercation turned violent at a birthday party in Palmdale late Saturday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

The fatal shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 38100 block of 50th Street East, according to a sheriff’s news release.

Two men were arguing at the large gathering when the victim was shot in the torso three times, the Sheriff’s Department said. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

His name has not been released.

The gunman fled the scene in an unknown direction after the shooting and remains at large. A detailed description of the shooter was not immediately available.

It was unknown what prompted the argument. The department also said they did not know if the incident was gang-related.

As sheriff’s homicide detectives continue to investigate the incident, they are asking anyone with information to come forward and call them at 323-890-5500.
