A Colorado woman was fired from her waitressing job for tweeting racist comments when a customer didn’t leave a tip.
In her tweet, which has since been deleted, Megan Olson said she would “kill as many Mexicans” as she could if there was a real-life purge, referring to the popular movie series, KTLA sister station KFOR reported.
Customers responded to the tweet on the Greeley, Colorado Texas Roadhouse’s Facebook page where officials responded and said Olson had been fired.
“This employee has been terminated as discrimination of any sort is not tolerated at Texas Roadhouse,” the comment on Facebook read.
Olson later responded to the comment and apologized for her actions.
“I wrote hurtful, inconsiderate, insensitive and careless words and I understand the amount of people I have offended by that. There are no excuses for what I have done,” Olson wrote in her comment.
“I sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, apologize to everyone for my momentary lack of judgment. I want you all to know that I do not actually feel this way.”
In the same comment she asked other restaurants in the area to let her know if they were hiring.
