Man Fatally Wounded in Deputy-Involved Shooting in Castaic

A man was fatally wounded in a deputy-involved shooting in Castaic on Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff`s Department.

A witness, identified only as Victor, told KTLA that the victim was fleeing deputies when he was shot.

"He jumped off his bike and started running and the cop shot him," Victor said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene in the 31500 block of Castaic Road, a release from the Sheriff's Department stated. Authorities initially said the shooting occurred in the 31900 block of Castaic Road.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

The Sheriff's Department had not released any additional information about the shooting.
