A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly shooting at two police officers on Saturday, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
Oscar Freddie Torres, of Santa Ana, was allegedly armed with a pistol when officers responded to a family disturbance call around 4:40 a.m. at a home on the 400 block of South Hesperian Street.
When police arrived at the home, Torres began firing in the direction of the officers, according to officials.
After allegedly shooting at the officers, he fled the scene and was later apprehended at his home. A pistol was recovered at the scene, police said.
The officers did not return fire and no one was injured in the shooting.
Torres is a self-admitted gang member and detectives will be seeking gang enhancement charges in addition to the attempted murder charge, according to police.
