A 26-year-old man was arrested Sunday night following an hourslong standoff with a SWAT Team in Calabasas, authorities said.

The man barricaded himself inside an apartment in the 5900 block of Las Virgenes Road shortly after 2:45 p.m. after an alleged assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

He was taken into custody at approximately 11:20 p.m. after several hours of attempted negotiations and various tactical approaches, the department said in a Facebook post.

The suspect, identified by authorities as John Marciniak, sustained minor injuries during the arrest and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

He was then booked at the Sheriff's Inmate Reception Center on assault charges, and is also being held on a warrant for robbery charges stemming from an incident in Thousand Oaks, according to the Facebook post.
