Cool Temperatures, Light Rain Expected This Week

Cool temperatures and light rain are expected this week, as an onshore flow moved into Southern California Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Light rain and lightning was reported in several areas of Los Angeles Sunday evening and night.

Sprinkles or showers are forecasted in Los Angeles and Ventura counties Monday and again Thursday to early Saturday, the agency reported.

Periodic light rain is expected along coastal area and a a “slightly better chance” of precipitation in the mountains and foothills.

Winds blowing in a southwestern direction will likely increase Sunday evening, but are expected to lessen by Monday afternoon.

Winds may reach advisory levels in Los Angeles area mountains, according to the weather service.
