Two men who were reportedly arguing over the recent presidential election were detained by police after one of them openly brandished a firearm in public, officials said.

Burbank police responded to call around 4:30 p.m. of a man wielding a handgun outside of Joe’s Great American Bar and Grill at 4311 W. Magnolia Blvd.

The men had left the restaurant when police arrived but were eventually tracked down several blocks away near Chandler Blvd. and North Ontario Street. Officers took the men into custody after drawing their guns.

Chandler was briefly closed off.
