Man Killed, Another Injured in Hawthorne Shooting: Police

A man was killed and another was injured in a shooting in front of a liquor store in Hawthorne Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The incident was reported about 3:20 p.m. outside Young’s Liquor Mart, 3800 El Segundo Blvd.

One of the victims was shot in the hand and was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, Hawthorne Police Lt. Jim Royer told KTLA.

The other victim was declared dead at the scene, Royer said.

The shooter got away from the scene and the suspect vehicle was described as a dark gray car.

The incident was not a drive-by shooting, but no further details were available.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation.
