A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with killing a woman in a West Adams hit-and-run crash last month, police said Wednesday.
Iris Davis, 50, was crossing West Adams Boulevard outside the crosswalk on Nov. 12 with a friend, police said.
She was struck and killed by a driver in a pickup truck who did not stop. Her friend was not injured in the crash.
Zachary Labov was arrested after LAPD officials received an anonymous call about the suspect and the vehicle he was driving at the time of the crash. tip came just weeks after a $50,000 reward was offered for information about the case, Detective Sandra Smith said.
Labov faces felony hit-and-run charges.
“This has been like a weight on my chest. I could not breathe, I could not sleep. I needed closure," the victim’s mother, Vivian Gibson, said during a news conference Wednesday. "I can have closure, I can be in court, to see that he is tried and convicted of this, so I am so grateful."
