LAPD Arrests Driver in Hawthorne After He Jumps Out of Car Following Slow-Speed Pursuit

The Los Angeles Police Department was in pursuit of a dark-colored vehicle in the Granada Hills area at about 2:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said the driver was brandishing a gun, but not at a person, and was not driving erratically.

LAPD called off the pursuit, but officers were still tracking the driver around 3:11 p.m. in the Santa Monica area.

At about 4:10 p.m., the driver of the car exited and started running away from police in the Hawthorne, on Crenshaw and 131st Street.

The driver was taken into custody by LAPD.
