An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 has struck near Castaic Sunday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

The temblor was reported about 1:10 p.m.m about 3 km northwest of Castaic.

It was estimated about 17 km in depth, the agency reported.

No damage has been reported.
