Lawyer in ‘The Staircase’ Killing Explains Defense That Eventually Set a Convicted Novelist Free

The defense attorney for novelist Michael Peterson — convicted of killing his wife at their North Carolina mansion in 2001 — explains the defense that eventually got Peterson a lesser manslaughter charge that allowed him to be released from prison during an interview with KTLA in Hollywood on Thursday. The case is chronciled in the Netflix series "The Staircase." Mary Beth McDade reports for the KTLA 5 News at 10 on October 11, 2018.
