18-Year-Old Arrested on Suspicion of Killing His Father in Laguna Niguel

An 18-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of killing his father in Laguna Niguel, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department announced Saturday.

Maximilian Ludwig was arrested a day after his father, 59-year-old Christopher Ludwig, was found dead on a walking trail.

Deputies responded to the location where his body was discovered in the 29000 block of Highlands Avenue, near Niguel Woods Park, around 4 p.m., according to sheriff’s officials.

After his arrest, the younger Ludwig was booked into Orange County Jail and not eligible for bail, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

He is scheduled to appear in court next Tuesday.
