A 24-year-old man accused of stalking a woman as she returned home from the gym may have entered women’s restrooms at multiple gyms and pool areas in Rancho Cucamonga and masturbated inside them, the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department announced Tuesday.

Ryan Bernard Oneal was arrested on Tuesday after law enforcement officials began investigating him when he was accused of following a woman home on Nov. 30., according to sheriff’s officials. He is suspected of stalking, lewd acts in public and attempted burglary.

Oneal allegedly tried entering the woman’s apartment from right behind her, officials said.

“It is believed that the male suspect was targeting the female victim in an attempt to sexually assault her,” sheriff’s officials said in a news release.

He ran away when the woman’s husband came out and confronted him, officials said, and authorities were unable to find him at the time.

But an ensuing investigation led sheriff’s officials to believe Oneal has been visiting women’s restrooms at multiple gyms and pools within apartment complexes, where he would masturbate and ejaculate on the toilet seats.

There is evidence linking Oneal to the alleged crimes and law enforcement officials believe he may have followed or harassed various women inside apartment complexes within Rancho Cucamonga
