Officials Ask for Help Tracking Down Teddy Bear Carried Away by Balloons, Believed to Be in O.C. or San Diego County

Officials are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing teddy bear that became lost after it was tied to a cluster of balloons and floated away in the skies above Westchester.

The stuffed animal, named Herbert, hasn’t been seen since Sunday morning, according to National Weather Service officials in Los Angeles.

The toy has a brown nose and paws, but is otherwise black. The agency said the bear was “important.”

Based on recent wind patterns, authorities believe it likely traveled to Orange or San Diego County and landed somewhere there.

The weather service encouraged others to spread the word with #FindHerbertBear.

The agency even shared a photo of one of its employees getting in on the search.

As of Tuesday night, there had been no reported Herbert sightings.
