The city of Malibu and other areas within the Woolsey Fire burn area were on high alert Thursday, as heavy rain through the region caused major concern for mud and debris flows, as well as flash flooding.

Officials also warn residents to stay out of ocean water near areas around creeks or storm drains, for at least 72 hours after rain runoff stops.
