Allie Mac Kay was a feature reporter on the KTLA 5 Morning News. She left the station in September 2014.
Original bio:
She calls her segments, “the fluff in between car chases, death and destruction” — and she would have it no other way. She gets to highlight businesses, events and people all over Southern California every morning.
After working all over the country — from Salt Lake City to Sacramento to New York City — she’s thrilled to be back home in Los Angeles, and on the show she began watching in high school.
She gets asked the same two questions every day: what time do you wake up and what time do you go to bed?
The answers are 2:30 a.m. and never before 10 p.m. She runs on coffee and laughter, and gets to see Los Angeles freeways with no traffic.
Allie is a champion for keeping the arts in schools, and as a Melanoma survivor, she also speaks out about skin cancer and the dangers of tanning.
