Gayle Anderson was live in Pasadena at the Armstrong Garden Center for information about what we can do to protect property during the EL NINO STORMS.

Suggestions include:
• Bracing hillsides from rain runoff and mudslides
• Protecting roots, dead shrubs and grasses, are crucial during rainstorms
• Choosing the right plants and shrubs with strong fibrous roots that will be sturdy for Spring
• Now is the time for fertilizers, which will take advantage of the rainfall
• Gardening tools for rainy days: rain barrels (how to install; how many do you recommend per home), garden clogs, rain boots and oversized umbrellas
• Pruning larger trees: prevent falling branches from damaging your property
