There’s “Sugar Free January,” “Veganuary” (when people eat a vegan diet for a month), but this month, people around the world are marking “Dry January” – meaning they pledge not to drink alcohol for the first 31 days of the year.   

Dry January was started in 2012 as a public health campaign by the British charity, “Alcohol Change UK,” which focuses on reducing alcohol harm.   

KTLA 5’s Courtney Friel spoke with experts and offers tips on how to fit Dry January into your life.
