This week is National Pet Appreciation Week and the entire month of June is National Pet Preparedness Month. Chief Veterinary Officer of the American Humane Association Dr Kwane Stewart joined us live along with Happy the Dog to talk about pet appreciation week, national pet preparedness month and how it’s a good reminder for people with pets to make preparations in case they should be hit by a disaster…and that includes making plans for what you would do with your dog in case of an earthquake, mudslide, flood or other natural disaster. Dr. Stewart also talked about the benefits of having animals in your life, and the statistics showing that kids that our raised with animals grow up to be more nurturing adults. Happy is the official canine ambassador of Hallmark’s Pet Project which uses entertainment to show the joys pets bring to our lives every day.  For more information on Dr. Stewart, click HERE.  For more information on Happy the Dog, click HERE.
