Gayle Anderson was live in Chino for today’s opening day of the PLANES OF FAME AIRSHOW 2015.

Friday, May 1st, Planes of Fame Air Museum is having a special ‘Airshow 2015 Preview Day & Twilight Show’ event beginning at 10:00am and ending at 8:00pm at the Chino Airport in Chino, California.

This year’s theme, ‘A Salute to Veterans’, celebrates the history, contributions and sacrifices of the nation’s veterans.

Saturday and Sunday, May 2nd and 3rd this year’s airshow features nearly 50 historic aircraft, including over 40 World War II aircraft such as the B-25 Mitchell, P-47 Thunderbolt, and the P-51 Mustang Pacific. Performers include: U.S.A.F. F-22 Raptor Demo Team and Heritage Flight, Sean D. Tucker- Team Oracle Aerobatics, Canadian Forces CF-18 Hornet Demonstration Team, Sea Fury Aerobatics by Sanders Aeronautics, Clay Lacy’s Learjet Demonstration, Rob Harrison and the Tumbling Bear, Gregory Colyer T-33, and John Collver’s AT-6 Aerobatics.

In addition to the airplane performances, there will be a special panel discussion with honored veterans as well as military vehicles, a ‘Kids Zone’, food, drinks and vendors. A special educational display by the Remembrance Rescue Project will present Rescue 5, a restored FDNY truck, damaged during September 11th, 2001, that lost all its crew of 11 firefighters. 

The Planes of Fame Air Museum is located on the north side of Chino Airport.

Parking is FREE. Preferred Parking is available for $15.

The Planes of Fame Air Museum is an independently operated, non-profit 501(c)(3) aviation museum. It is the mission of Planes of Fame Air Museum to preserve aviation history, inspire interest in aviation, educate the public and honor aviation pioneers and veterans. The Museum is dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation and exhibition of historical aircraft, and to the men and women, both famous and unknown, who devoted their lives to flight.
