The National Geographic Channel in partnership with Mental Floss will present an awake deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery during a live special called Brain Surgery Live with Mental Floss from the operating room at University Hospitals (UH) Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio — a first on U.S. television.  The patient suffers from early onset Parkinson’s Disease. The live two-hour special hosted by Bryant Gumbel and Dr. Rahul Jandial premieres this Sunday, Oct. 25, at 6 pm (Pacific Time) on National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo Mundo and globally in 171 countries and 45 languages.
