he Broad Museum is celebrating its one year anniversary! There are pop up art talks throughout the galleries. We still have time to see the special exhibition “Cindy Sherman: Imitation of Life before it closes Sunday, October 2nd.
Also, special The Broad branded Sprinkles Cupcakes are being sold at Sprinkles downtown Los Angeles location at 735 South Figueroa until Sunday, September 25th. Additionally, Otium restaurant on the plaza next to the museum celebrates The Broad anniversary by featuring an Andy Warhol inspired clam chowder and a cocktail inspired by Jeff Koons' iconic work “Michael Jackson and Bubbles.”

This is new at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. It the NEW Butterfly Pavilion. This permanent facility replaces the temporary structure. It features more flight space; more resting spots for the more than 30 varieties of California and sub-tropical free flying butterflies and more light!
Butterfly Pavilion interpreters are on hand to explain to tell the stories of the beautiful creatures and why they are so important.


35th Annual Watts Towers Day of the Drum Festival @ 10am

The 35th Annual Watts Towers Day of the Drum Festival is FREE at the Watts Towers Arts Center featuring an all-star line up of world class musicians, singers, and dancers. . The festival’s activities are complimented by Carlos Spivey’s “The Power of Love,” and Sammy Davis’ “It’s All About the Bass” exhibitions as well as guided tours of the historic Watts Towers created by Simon Rodia.

The 15th Annual Galbani® Cheese Italian Feast of San Gennaro, Los Angeles takes over Hollywood with its annual street festival, celebrating everything Italian, including the savory smells of Italian sausage and peppers, meatballs
simmering in homemade sauce, baked clams on the half shell, warm cheese on perfectly crusted pizza and sugar-powdered zeppole fill the streets of Hollywood while patrons enjoy cold glasses of sangria and listen to the sweet sounds of opera, jazz and big band late into the night! Admission is $5.00.

This is the last day to appreciate the hard work necessary to create these 15 enormous structures in Costa Mesa at South Coast Plaza. Look closely. They’re all made of can goods and non-perishable food items. They’re the stars of the 9th Annual CANstruction Orange County Design/Build Competition.

The McCarthy Building Companies team created this slot machine using a variety of cans goods including Chorizo, Oven Roasted Turkey Spam!

All of this creative hard work benefits the Orange County Food Bank. The can structures will be donated to the non-profit organization.

We can stop by South Coast Plaza to see the winners of this year’s competition and donate to the Orange County Food Bank by going to the website.
