Gayle Anderson was live in Santa Monica with the athletes selected to compete in the 2015 SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD GAMES and to remind everyone not to miss the 18th Annual PIER DEL SOL event at Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier Sunday, October 12, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Admission to the event features rides, games, music and entertainment on the main stage, karaoke, arts and crafts, a hands-on tide pool experience as well as a silent auction. VIP guests can attend a gourmet VIP outdoor brunch from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with over 36 of Greater L.A.’s best restaurants.

PIER DEL SOL is a fundraiser benefiting more than 17,000 athletes of Special Olympics Southern California. This year’s honoree is The Coca-Cola Company. Maria Shriver and Bobby Shriver are honorary chairs.

General admission includes unlimited rides, 8 game tickets, and a meal coupon for Pacific Park’s food plaza. VIP tickets are available and include unlimited rides, 12 game tickets, and access to the VIP outdoor brunch. VIP discount packages are also available. You can purchase tickets HERE.

And, don’t forget the Special Olympics World Games are coming. Special Olympics, the global leader for people with intellectual disabilities, will hold the world’s largest sports and humanitarian event in Los Angeles, the world capital for media and entertainment in 2015, uniting the world through sports in a celebration of the abilities and accomplishments of people with intellectual disabilities and forming a new global vision of acceptance.


Special Olympics Southern California offers free year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. More than 17,000 athletes in 11 Southern California counties compete in 12 Olympic-type sports.
